Elementary Music Teachers Have Been Saved

At the Burbank Unified School District (BUSD) Board of Education meeting on Thursday, May 2nd, Burbank Arts for All Foundation presented the actual grant check in the amount of $100,000, following their announcement in February.  This grant is the largest in the Foundation’s history and was given to help mitigate cuts to the Elementary Music Program in BUSD’s budget crisis.

Together, with Burbank Arts for All Foundation’s grant and donations from the Burbank Educational Foundation, the Roosevelt Elementary Booster Association and, with a recent grant from the Chuck Lorre Family Foundation, Superintendent Dr. Matt Hill announced that all three elementary music teachers have been saved from budget cuts in the 2019-2020 school year.

While it was a celebratory evening, Burbank Arts for All Foundation recognizes that this grant will not solve all of the issues facing BUSD arts education, which is why we are committed to doing more throughout 2019:

All are welcome!

Thank you to ALL of our donors, volunteers, partners, Board of Directors and staff for supporting the Foundation’s work in this time of unprecedented need.
