Burbank Unified School District Quality Teacher, Staff, & Schools Measure I

In keeping with our mission to ensure that every student in Burbank public schools receives a quality arts education as part of their core curriculum, we recognize the need to support funding sources that will enable our schools to sustain and continue to invest in and expand arts education. Therefore, on the heels of the Foundation’s most significant year of impact with more than $195,000 given to BUSD’s students, teachers and school sites in 2019, the Foundation has decided to join BUSD in support of a Measure I to provide quality schools and to maintain/expand arts education in all students’ core curriculum.

In March 2020, BUSD will be asking voters to support:

BURBANK UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT QUALITY TEACHER, STAFF AND SCHOOLS MEASURE I

“To maintain high-quality Burbank schools by retaining excellent teachers; protecting small class sizes; and maintain/expand career/college courses, art, music, science, innovative programs, safety and wellness support, shall this Burbank Unified School District measure to levy $0.10 per square foot of improved property per parcel annually, exempting seniors/certain disability recipients, providing approximately $9,100,000 in annual local funding for 12 years and requiring independent oversight/audits, be approved?”
