Burbank High School In Sync

The modern Burbank High vocal music and show choir program was established by director Michelle Jensen in 1997. In 2002, Brett Carroll took the reins as director. Donna Dandino has served as assistant director since 2006. Under Carroll’s direction, Burbank High’s show choir program has grown to become one of the most successful and recognized in the nation. The top advanced mixed choir, In Sync, won its first national competition championship at FAME New York in 2004. And it has consistently placed in the top 5 national show choir ranking in the years since – scoring numerous Grand Championship wins at major competitions in the Midwest, New York (again) and throughout California. In Sync has won the prestigious Southern California Show Choir Invitational Grand Championship the past six years and the Burroughs Showcase the past eight years. In 2009 – 2010, the group was named the number one show choir in the nation by Show Choir Rankings. They were chosen to film the series pilot of “Glee” in 2009, recorded vocals for the Season One “Glee” DVD, and performed for the “Glee” Season Premiere Party Celebration in 2010.
